Tyler @ Kindergarten

LONG POST WARNING!!!

Well the day has finally come- Tyler's first day of Kindergarten @ Spring Garden Elementary !! Wow - how we (Kendra and I that is - don't think Tyler has given it much thought!! HA) have anticipated this day for several months.

DAILY REPORT CARD: It was a fabulous day!!

We started the day off with having to "wake the dead" at about 7:10 am in order to be ready to go by 7:30 or so!! (a sign of things to come??) Whew - glad I don't have a girl or we would've never made it. Tyler got ready in a flash, had a good breakfast of Honey Bunches of Oats (his favorite) and then we started with pics. We were so glad to have our friend Traci offer to come over and help watch Colby and Brady so we could take Tyler to school by ourselves. She also helped us take some pictures. Thanks Church Lady!!

Here's a quick shot with Mom and Dad. Tyler was so excited to go to school with his new "CARS" backpack!

One of Tyler's special teachers is Mrs. Wotring. Here she is showing Tyler where his locker is. I think Tyler thought it was pretty cool to have his own locker. That's the famous CARS backpack and lunchbox that he's putting in there.

It didn't take Tyler long to jump right in. I think Mom and Dad had to squeeze in our hugs because Tyler had already started his coloring. It was cute!

Apparently the day went great. When Kendra picked him up, Mrs. Wotring said he had a "fabulous day" which was music to our ears. I think it was obvious too by the look on his face in the picture below as well as the "giddy" way he was acting when he came home. (I was home this afternoon nursing a sinus infection so I was here when he got home). He mentioned that his favorite thing today was "circle time" and the singing they did. He also enjoyed "gym time" where he did something about spinning on his bottom (high quality education!! HA). He met new friends like Alice and Cannon and saw some old friends from his PPCD class like Max.

After he finished his description of his day to me, I said "Tyler, wanna go back tomorrow and do it all over again?" He quickly said, "Noooooo waaaaaay"!! Then he gave his signature Tyler laugh and giggle. Such a cute little guy!!!

In the end, it's hard not to think about Phillipians 4:6 that says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." We praise God today for answering our prayers. We ask that you continue to join us in prayer for Tyler as he works through this exciting year and as he faces the many challenges with a "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strenth" mentality. Pray for wisdom, patience, kindness and joy for little Tyler-man! That's some of the many things we are certainly praying for so its fun to know there will be others along side us. Pray also for Mrs. Wotring and the other teacher, Mrs. Knights. I think the teacher's aide is Ms. Lucient (sp??) so add her to the list as well. We are so proud of Tyler today. If you have any thoughts for Tyler, let us know and we will certainly pass them on to him.

God bless you all,
SJ
