Gig 'em Brady !

As a fan of Texas A&M, I was quite pleased at one of the more recent pictures (taken to be part of the hospital's website) of my new little son, Brady. For those unfamiliar with these parts, Texas A&M and the University of Texas ("tu") are big rivals. Texas fans are known for showing their "hook 'em horns" hand jesture.

Both Aric (my brother-in-law who went to A&M) and I were quite pleased to see Brady offering his allegiance to his university of choice. At least it's pretty obvious from the picture what his fingers are trying to tell us. Take a look and tell me what you think!! :)

God bless you all,
SJ

He's truly showing his displeasure for the "hook 'em horns" sign!! Ain't that great!!! And, no, this wasn't something I scripted. It just happened that way!!

This and a few others will be on the hospital website real soon so stay tuned...

Welcome Brady McClure Vaughn !!

Some of you have heard but here's our official announcement. We are excited to announce the birth of our 3rd wonderful son, Brady McClure Vaughn. God granted us this blessing today (Wednesday) and we are thrilled to be a part of his life and future. He's already brought all of us so much joy. He was born at 12:02 pm, weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz. and was 21 inches long.

We expect to be in the hospital through mid-day Friday. For those who can't make it to the hospital in downtown Ft. Worth, here's what we've posted on the door of our room so others will know a little bit more about Brady:

(In honor of Donny's late grandparents, Jim & Maxine McClure)

Thank you Lord for blessing us with the gift of life today in little Brady. We are humbled that you've placed his earthly care in our hands and we ask that you guide us in helping us raise him to be a wonderful Christian young man. Thank you Lord for all the doctors and nurses who worked to bring Brady into this world. Thank you for the wonderful support of family and friends during such an emotional time. Thank you for a wonderful wife who is a wonderful patient that a man can be proud of!! (some aren't that way!) I am richly blessed !!

Here are some wonderful pictures of my three boys!!

My wonderful new baby boy!! It was fun holding you today!!

Tyler-Man, I was so proud of him today and the way he played so gently and carefully with his little brother. You're the best biggest brother ever!!

Colby Joe - you were so sweet with Brady. I think he loved your sweet kisses as much as the rest of us do. You are going to make a great little big brother!!

A Gas Problem?

After you all kinda chuckle at the title (I did!), allow me to explain. From the picture you'll see my 5-year old Tyler (ok, he turns 5 on Friday 3/10) helping pump some gas into our minivan over the weekend.

So what's the problem? The problem I wrestle with is knowing what's appropriate to let me son do and when? Is it safe to let my 5 year old pump gas? Probably not by some standards. However, it was such a fun experience for the both of us for him to get to help me. In fact, the next day, I pulled into a convenience store to get a paper and he said, "Can I help pump gas?" What a big-boy thing to do is to help pump gas!! So when is the right time to...

Ok... let's be serious. I can't do it any longer!!! I must come clean!!! I'm not really struggling with this!!! I'm just looking for something to blog about as I wait for our 3rd boy, Brady, to be born!! The due date (for whatever that means) was Friday, March 3rd so the waiting game is on.

Please Brady come quickly!! We can't wait to see you!! But it was a cute picture of Tyler don't ya think??

God bless you all,
SJ
